Warehouse Floor Resurfacing Gloucester
We provide warehouse floor resurfacing and industrial overlay systems throughout Gloucester and the wider Severn corridor. Worn or uneven concrete slabs are refurbished using bonded self levelling compounds, polymer modified cementitious overlays and resin finishes, with systems selected to suit logistics, storage and production environments and to support long term structural and surface performance.
20 +
Years
Experience in Concrete Flooring
Our Gloucester resurfacing teams work around Gloucester Business Park, Quedgeley and Waterwells Business Park, Barnwood and other industrial areas along the M5. Projects range from distribution sheds and manufacturing units to multi let estates where existing concrete slabs need improved levelness, joint performance and durability under forklift, pallet truck and tug movements.

Our Process
STEP 1
Every scheme starts with a diagnostic survey of the existing slab. We review cracking, joint breakdown, surface wear, impact damage around racking legs and historic patch repairs, which are common in long serving warehouses near Gloucester docks and along the M5. Localised defects are broken out and reinstated, joints are rebuilt where necessary and any contamination or weak laitance is removed. The floor is then mechanically prepared using grinding, shot blasting and diamond tooling to provide a clean, profiled substrate ready to receive the warehouse floor resurfacing system.
STEP 2
Once preparation is complete we install the selected industrial floor overlay, which may be a polymer modified cementitious topping, a cement based self levelling compound or a resin finish. System choice reflects loadings, wheel types, internal climate and cleaning regime. Thickness and flow are controlled to correct local undulations, adjust falls where drainage is required and improve regularity in racking aisles, marshalling lanes and loading areas. The goal is a smooth, durable surface that works with guidance systems and MHE used in Gloucester distribution, manufacturing and storage facilities.
STEP 3
After installation, the overlay is cured in line with manufacturer guidance and the agreed programme. On suitable projects, rapid curing systems can allow controlled foot traffic or light MHE in 24 to 48 hours, with full forklift loading and racking introduced once strength and hardness targets are reached. Movement and construction joints are cut or reinstated to manage slab behaviour and limit edge damage. Before handover we review the surface finish and, where required, flatness and regularity, and provide maintenance and operating guidance tailored to the Gloucester facility and its operating profile.
Why Choose Us
The life of a warehouse floor overlay is governed by how well it is bonded to the existing slab. Our Gloucester teams invest heavily in mechanical preparation, removing coatings, contamination and weak material and creating a repeatable surface profile. This, combined with suitable primers and bonding agents, supports composite behaviour between slab and overlay and helps to prevent debonding, blistering and surface instability under forklift, pallet truck and tug traffic.
Many Gloucester facilities support regional and national distribution with limited scope for extended shutdowns. We plan resurfacing programmes around trunking times, shift patterns and seasonal peaks, using phased work zones, temporary access routes and, where appropriate, night or weekend working. Rapid curing systems can then be used to hand back areas in sequence while still allowing adequate time for preparation and curing of each phase.
Breaking out and replacing a slab is disruptive and expensive, especially in busy sheds with established racking, services and automation. Resurfacing allows the structural concrete to remain where it is sound, while renewing the wearing layer with an overlay designed for abrasion resistance, impact and smooth running. For operators in Gloucester this approach supports longer floor life, fewer reactive repairs and more predictable maintenance budgets.
